Self-Access to CalJOBS
Accessing and entering information into the CalJOBS Web site allows you to save time and insure the accuracy of your employment needs. By listing your job openings on CalJOBS, you gain access to the largest single pool of applicants in Kern County: people with different levels of skills and expertise, from entry level to professional.
Applicant Recruiting & Screening
With a large pool of job candidates readily available, employers have access to people of different ages, skills and experiences! Testing and assessment of applicants' skills and aptitudes are analyzed.
On-the-Job Training Incentives
When hiring certain qualified candidates through the Career Services Center, you may be reimbursed up to 50% of each new employee's wages during the time he or she is learning the job. Depending on the complexity of the job and the qualifications of the trainee, this period may last from three to sixteen weeks. We can also save you time by recruiting and pre-screening applicants. This service is provided to you at no fee.
Tax Credits
Tax credits are available to employers who hire certain qualified candidates; other credits are available to employers who make their businesses accessible to persons with disabilities.
Testing & Interviewing Facilities
Comfortable conference, presentation, interview, orientation and meeting space is available for employer events.
Rapid Response
This state-sponsored program assists employers and their employees in preventing and/or minimizing the impact of layoffs by providing layoff transition assistance and layoff aversion services.
Employer Advisory Councils
Provides employers with opportunities to stay current with changes in employment law and other business-related issues through seminars and workshops sponsored by Career Services Center and Employment Development Department.
